I took this photo today. I just happened to look up and see the moon there behind the palm trees. In the Central Valley this time of year it is rainy, windy, and occasionally actually cold. We get some pretty good storms. It is snowing in the mountains. Christmas in California is like Christmas nowhere else. My husband is still wearing shorts everywhere. I talked to a friend today who was clad in flip-flops, whilst also wearing long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and a sharp leather jacket. It was a dry day between storms, I managed to clean up some leaves. The more I thought about this photo, the more it has appealed to me as a California Christmas Card. Not quite a surfing Santa or a sandcastle snowman, but it’ll do.
